Term Limits for a Stronger America (TLFSA) is a citizen-led, nonpartisan organization committed to restoring integrity to Congress by passing a constitutional amendment for federal term limits.
We are parents, veterans, entrepreneurs, teachers, and everyday Americans who believe Congress should be a place of public service — not personal ambition. We’re united by a shared purpose: to return power to the people and fix what Washington will never fix on its own.
To build a stronger America by educating citizens on their constitutional power, mobilizing the states to call for a term limits convention, and reshaping Congress into a place of service — not careerism.

Constitutional Amendment: To impose term limits on members of Congress, a constitutional amendment would be required. This is because the U.S. Constitution does not currently limit how many terms members of Congress can serve.
Most Americans don’t realize it — but you have the power to change the Constitution.
We’re going to teach Americans how the Constitution gives us, the people, the ability to fix what Congress won’t.
Through social media, videos, town halls, and community outreach, we’ll show everyone that term limits can happen — if we take action together.
Congress won’t limit itself. But the Constitution gives the states the power to do what Congress won’t.
When 34 state legislatures pass a simple resolution, they can force a Constitutional Convention — without needing Congress’s approval.
We’re building a nationwide movement to help citizens in each state demand that their legislators make the call.
At the convention, delegates from each state will come together to propose a term limits amendment.
Once passed, the amendment goes to all 50 states.
And when 38 states ratify it, term limits become the law of the land — and Congress will never be the same.
It’s written in the Constitution.
It starts with you.

The implementation of these restrictions is not merely a procedural formality but a critical measure to ensure the infusion of fresh perspectives and ideas into the intricate tapestry of governance.
The staleness that can result from extended periods in office without the opportunity for new individuals to contribute their unique insights and innovations can be a significant barrier to the progress that characterizes a vibrant democracy.
Moreover, term limits serve as a powerful antidote to the entrenchment of power, where long-standing incumbents may accumulate excessive influence, at times leading to a sense of complacency or entitlement.
This concentration of power can disrupt the equilibrium of a balanced governmental structure designed to serve the people it represents. By mandating regular turnover, term limits cultivate a dynamic environment where responsibility and representation remain at the forefront, fostering accountability and vigilance within the federal and congressional ranks.
In conclusion, the necessity of Federal and Congressional Term Limits transcends mere political debate; it is a fundamental component that safeguards the democratic principles upon which the nation was founded.
By embracing this philosophy, we preserve the essential vitality and responsiveness of our legislative institutions, ensuring that they remain attuned to the evolving needs and wishes of the citizenry they are elected to serve.
